(A) The relative mRNA expression levels of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), involucrin and transglutaminase 1 (TG1) in 3-D and transformed human corneal epithelial (HCE-T) monolayer (ML) cultures as measured by real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction assay, normalized to β-actin expression. (B) The relative protein expression levels of EGFR, involucrin and TG1 as determined by Western blot assay; β-actin was used as a loading control.
