Mean absolute and estimated values of aged and otherwise healthy group, and aged and with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in the fellow or studied eye group were compared using the Student’s t-test. AMD-related group refers to pooled data from AMD-fellow and AMD groups. Absolute values (n = 15 and n = 19), and estimated values (n = 22 and n = 31); in aged healthy and aged AMD-related groups, respectively.
