Surgical technique. A A large chalazion clamp is applied to the lower eyelid and stabilize the lower eyelid during the incision. B After subciliary incision, several buried 7–0 Vicryl sutures were placed to allow adhesion between the tarsal plate and the subcutaneous tissue of the upper skin flap. C Minimal amounts of redundant skin and orbicularis muscle are removed to avoid ectropion or lower eyelid retraction. D After meticulous haemostasis, the skin is closed with a running 6–0 fast absorbing gut suture
