Number of specimens received during the period 1959 to 2021. A) The number of specimens received increased from n = 2 in 1959 to n = 1121 in 2021. The average annual percent change (AAPC) for the entire period was + 10.5%. This can be compared with the size of the Swedish population, which increased with an AAPC of 0.5% during the same period (pink line) and with the mean age in the Swedish population, which increased with an AAPC of 0.2% (purple line). In linear regression analysis, the number of specimens increased with a slope coefficient of 18.5 per year (brown dashed line). Arrows indicate join points in the data.
