  1. The level of control was measured using the Look And Cover, then Ten seconds of Observation Scale for Exotropia (LACTOSE) control scoring system. This control system was constructed by incorporating scales for both distance and near evaluations (5-point scales: 0–4 in each), yielding a total score ranging from 0 to 8. Higher and lower scores indicated poorer and better levels of control, respectively
