Ophthalmoscopic evidence | Narrow retinal arterioles, diffuse and widespread atrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium and/or choroid, bony spicules or granular hyperpigmentation, abnormality of fundus reflexes and/or optic nerve head pallor |
Visual field defects | Peripheral or mid-peripheral |
Dark-adapted electroretinogram (ERG) | Severe reduction or extinction |
